# Adding Knowledge to noou: Upload Organizational Documents

> How to upload your organizational documents to noou, what the platform does with them after upload, and how to work alongside existing content systems.

Adding knowledge to noou means bringing your organizational content into a system that does more than store it. When you upload documents, noou processes and indexes them so they can be searched, evaluated, and connected to the interactions and learning experiences that happen on the platform.

## What to upload

Start with the content that people in your organization rely on — or should be relying on — to do their work:

* **Processes** that define how work gets done and who is responsible at each stage
* **Policies** that govern decisions, behavior, and organizational standards
* **Procedures** with step-by-step instructions for specific tasks
* **Guides** that provide context, background, or support for complex situations
* **Product information** that people need to work with or communicate about what your organization offers
* **Operation criteria** that define the standards and thresholds for acceptable performance

If people need it to do their jobs, it belongs in noou. The goal is not to upload everything that exists — it is to upload the knowledge that matters and that should be reliable.

## Uploading your documents

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to the Knowledge section in noou">
    Navigate to the Knowledge section from the main navigation. This is where your organizational content lives and where you manage what has been added.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Upload your organizational documents">
    Select the documents you want to add. Upload the files that represent the processes, policies, procedures, and guides your organization depends on.
  </Step>

  <Step title="noou processes and indexes the content">
    Once uploaded, noou processes each document — making its content searchable and available for use across the platform. This step prepares the knowledge for structured evaluation and for surfacing during interactions.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Knowledge Health evaluation begins">
    As content is processed, noou begins evaluating its health. This includes an initial assessment of dimensions such as currency, consistency, and coverage — giving you a starting picture of how reliable the knowledge is.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  Specific file formats and size limits will be documented as the platform evolves. For now, upload your standard organizational documents in the formats you already use.
</Note>

## What happens after upload

Once your documents are in noou, they become active organizational assets rather than passive files. noou makes uploaded knowledge:

* **Searchable** — people can find it when they need it, without having to know exactly where it is stored
* **Evaluable** — the platform continuously assesses the health of the content across multiple dimensions, surfacing issues like outdated information, missing ownership, or low usage
* **Available for interactions** — knowledge feeds the interactions that noou enables, so that when people engage with content, there is a direct connection between what they are learning and the actual source material

This is the foundation of noou's core model: knowledge that is available and healthy can be activated, used, and improved over time.

## Working with existing systems

Many organizations already have knowledge spread across platforms like SharePoint, Google Drive, Confluence, or internal wikis. noou does not replace those systems — it gives you a dedicated place to centralize the knowledge that needs to be reliable, evaluated, and connected to how people actually learn and work.

To get started, export or copy the relevant documents from wherever they currently live and upload them directly to noou. Connectors that would allow noou to sync content directly from external systems are not yet available. When specific integrations are supported, they will be documented here in detail.

<Tip>
  Start with the knowledge that people ask about most often, or that is most critical to day-to-day operations. High-traffic, high-stakes content delivers the most immediate value when it is centralized, healthy, and easy to find.
